Teacher, 2nd Grade
I have over 18 years of experience as a teacher. I am a Cum Laude graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and over 18 hours toward my Master of Education. While working on my Master’s Degree, I was hired to teach 4th grade and was a finalist for Beginning Teacher of the Year at the district level. In addition, I was selected as Reading Teacher of the Year at my elementary school in South Carolina. I continued to teach 4th grade until I felt God calling me to stay at home with my children. I am so grateful for the opportunity to help educate my children during their early years. After moving to Newnan, I helped open a private Christian school where I taught Pre-K for 8 years.
I have been trained in the Orton-Gillingham Multi-Sensory Phonics Program and enjoy using a variety of teaching strategies to actively engage all of my students. I am very passionate about helping my students find their strengths, so they can feel successful and confident about using the gifts God gives them. I am always humbled by recognizing not how much I teach my students, but how much I learn from my students each year.
I have been married for 22 years and have a son and a daughter. I have been involved with my church’s ministries in many capacities and currently serve as a nursery worker. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being on the lake, and attending Clemson football games.
I feel blessed to be a part of CCS and can’t wait to see what God will do this year!
