I am thrilled and blessed to be part of the Central Christian School faculty and every year I am excited and amazed to see all the ways the Lord blesses our CCS family.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Clayton State University in 2000, with a Bachelor of Arts in Middle Grades Education (language arts and social science concentration). In 2013, I received my Master of Education degree from Columbus State University where I was awarded the Certificate of Academic Honor and the College of Education Outstanding Student Award. I hold Georgia certification in Middle Grades Language Arts and Social Science, Secondary English, and pre-k-12th grade School Counseling. In addition, I am a Nationally Certified Counselor.
I have taught middle school English/language arts, reading, and social studies and have served as English department chairperson as well as on various committees throughout my years of teaching. In addition to my teaching experience, I have worked as an elementary school counselor and as a clinical therapist.
My husband, Kyle, and I have been married for 24 years. We live in Senoia and have two children, Emily Kate and Travis, both of whom attend Central Christian School. Our family loves CCS, and we truly believe it is the best environment for our children to grow spiritually and academically.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and traveling (especially to the beach or to see my sister and her family in southern California). I am an avid college football fan and enjoy watching games on television or in person. I am also a major fan of all sports here at Central. You can find me (hear me 😊) on the sidelines at middle school and varsity football games, in the bleachers for volleyball and basketball games, and cheering with our cheerleaders at games and competitions.
Teaching is my love, and I am committed to encouraging students to reach their highest potential. My goal is to build strong relationships with my students and their families so that we can work together to encourage growth and learning. Open communication is vital to cultivating great relationships. Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions or concerns.
