Assistant Principal, Lower School
Teacher, 1st Grade
I serve dual roles as the first grade teacher and assistant principal for the lower grades at Central Christian School. I have been working with young people since high school where I worked with my church’s outdoor evangelistic team. I am an active member of the church that founded Central Christian School and, after graduating from high school, I volunteered as the school librarian for a year.
I graduated from Bob Jones University, in Greenville, South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a minor in English. I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades at CCS, as well as a multi-age class (1st / 2nd or 3rd / 4th) for twelve years. In addition, I have taught elementary music and led elementary chapel. In church I have taught the kindergarten class, the primary Sunday school class, and directed the children’s choir. Working with various ages has empowered me with the skills and experience for teaching first grade.
I have been attending the same church for almost 50 years and have been teaching at CCS for more than 36 years. Teaching is not just a job for me—it is a ministry and my life work! I am proud of the legacy of our school as a Christian school. I give thanks God for being faithful to the school and am excited about where He will lead it in the future with new students, new teachers, and new technology!
