Music Department Chair
I am ecstatic to be in my second year teaching at Central Christian School and serving as the Music Department Chair. It is my joy to be a part of the team here at CCS to develop students in excellence in the arts and discipleship in Christ.
I have 6 years of experience in teaching music at all grade levels. In addition to my teaching experience, I have a wide range of training including a B.A in Music Education, private lesson teaching experiences, and experience as a professional musician. I have performed in churches, live music venues, musical theatre, as well as symphony orchestras. My most notable experiences include performing as a bass guitarist for several cruise ships.
Serving as the Central Christian School Music Department Chair, I have the pleasure of organizing the winter and spring elementary programs. I also have the opportunity of directing the drama in their performances at the school and the G.A.P.P.S. competition. Students in the 5th and 6th grade also have the opportunity to perform in the school band, which performs at the winter and spring performances, as well as the basketball and football games, and other events. However, my favorite teaching responsibility is to guide the praise and worship team for our chapel services. This allows me to mentor the students in the art of performing various instruments such as guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards, as well as singing.
I am proud to offer many different opportunities for students to develop in their artistic talents. Some of the avenues of study that we offer include elementary chorus, drama, band, ukuleles, music theory, and modern praise and worship studies. One of my goals for the 2021-2022 is to start a string program where students will play violin, viola, cello, and upright bass.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my job as the Music Department Chair is the opportunity that I have to develop students in the discipleship of Christ. In addition to teaching music, I also teach New Testament for the highschool, as well as teaching in the chapel services and discipleship groups. I look forward to working with your family in the coming years.
In His Grace,
Music Department Chair
