Worship Team:
Fifth grade students participate in leading worship during the elementary chapel each week. They are taught the songs and movements to the songs. They lead worship every Wednesday at 8:15. Parents are always invited to attend.

Athletics & Clubs:

Run Club:

All elementary students 1st – 5th grade are eligible to participate. Elementary Run Club will take place after school from 3:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.

The emphasis of this club is to encourage participants to develop a healthy lifestyle through walking, jogging, or running.

In considering the individual differences, this program will limit systematic training and competition by encouraging participants to walk, jog or run at a pace that is set by their own natural ability.

Participants will be walking, jogging or running around a course in the grass area across from the main parking lot. The course will be marked with cones and laps will be recorded.

Participants will receive running feet tokens for accomplishing set goals. They will also receive a participation certificate for their involvement.

Elementary Run Club will take place on Tuesday’s and Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. Fall Run Club will take place during October and Spring Run Club will take place during March.

Parents please make your student is picked up by 3:45 p.m. or they will need to be picked up from aftercare.

Soccer:

All elementary students K4 – 5th grade are eligible to participate. Elementary Soccer practices will begin on Monday, April 8, 2019. Paul Vasquez and Frank Winfrey will be coordinating. We need parents who can help coach at practice and/or at games.

Elementary soccer practices will take place each week on Monday and Wednesday from 2:40 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Students will be dismissed 5 minutes early from class on practice days and will need to come to school dressed in soccer attire to be ready for practice.

All Elementary Soccer players should wear their P.E. uniforms or black shorts and a CCS/or ash colored t-shirt for practice.

Soccer games will start at 3:05 p.m. on the following Fridays:

Around the World Club:

Around the World Club is available for elementary student’s 1st – 5th grade. This club will meet on Tuesdays during the Months of November and December in the third grade classroom 3:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.

The purpose of the club is to promote a global mission perspective as the students are introduced to various missionaries.

Each week (through video format) students will be learning about mission work in countries abroad. Different missionaries along with their children will be sharing about their work.

Drama Club:

All elementary students 1st – 5th grade are eligible to participate. Elementary Drama Club will take place after school from 3:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. The emphasis of this club is to encourage participants to develop a love for drama and puppetry.

Participants will be learning basic drama and puppetry skills. Speaking in front of a crowd is vital to drama, therefore, students will be working on speaking comfortably in front of others.

Short skits will be used as a basis of helping students practice skills learned. Basic puppetry skills will be introduced and will be balanced between skits and puppets.

Elementary Drama Club will take place during the months of November and December on Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. in the third grade classroom.

Basketball:

All elementary students 1st – 5th grade are eligible to participate.

Purpose: To coordinate an effective elementary basketball program that will help young student athletes develop basic knowledge and skills needed to improve their level of playing basketball. Great emphasis at practice and during games is on improving team work and not individual athleticism.

Game Overview: There will be two teams playing four, six minute periods with a six-minute halftime. The players on the court during each period will wear team wristbands that will match in color to the wristbands worn by the opposing team. By doing this, the coaches will be able to match a man to man approach to defense as well as the matching skill set and height of the various players. Rosters for each team will be evaluated each practice and revisions will be made before each game.  Total playing time is estimated to be thirty minutes.

Bible Club:

Bible Club is available for elementary student’s 1st – 5th grade. The gospel message changes everything and understanding the Bible is essential to grow spiritually.

The purpose of the club is to promote a love for God’s word through interactive Bible lessons using multimedia.

Bible Club will meet afterschool from 3:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. in the third grade classroom. The Club will meet during the month of September on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

K-kids:                                                                                                                           

K-Kids is a student-led service club for students in elementary. The stated purpose of K-Kids is to develop leadership through service to the school and community. Clubs are chartered in partnership with a Kiwanis club and a school. K-Kids is open to any upper elementary school student in grades 3rd – 5th who wants to join.

Cheerleading:                                                                                                 

All elementary students K4 – 5th grade are eligible to participate. Cheerleading is a huge part of sporting events at all levels of play. When athletes need encouragement and fans need entertainment, cheerleaders can take your sports experience to another level because they add excitement and spirit to any game day!
